The University of Missouri-St. Louis Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Jim Widner and the Jazz Lab Band directed by Gary Brandes, will present a program of classic as well as contemporary big band arrangements from such writers as Sammy Nestico, John Clayton,Tom Kubis, Kim Richmond and others. The Jazz Ensemble is preparing for three upcoming major concerts including performances at the Midwest Band Clinic in Chicago, the Jazz Education Network Conference held in Dallas in January, as well as the Missouri Music Educators Conference, also held in January. Guest artists appearing with the band at these upcoming performances include John Clayton, Jon Faddis, Terell Stafford, Harry Watters and Gregg Bissonette. Appearing with the Lab Band on this concert will be Trombonist Dave Dickey. The concert is free and open to the public.
