The Vietnam War

presented by the Nine Network with Ken Burns

Join the Nine Network of Public Media and acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns for a preview screening and discussion of a new 10-part, 18-hour film series on Nine PBS, The Vietnam War. Burns tells the epic story of the Vietnam War as it has never-before been told on film. It features testimony from nearly 100 witnesses, including Americans who fought in the war and those who opposed it, as well as Vietnamese combatants and civilians from both the winning and losing sides.

“The Vietnam War was a decade of agony that took the lives of more than 58,000 Americans,” Burns says. “Not since the Civil War have we as a country been so torn apart.”

The discussion will be moderated by Gerald Early, Professor of English, Merle Kling Professor of Modern Letters, Washington University in St. Louis.
