Ray Charles became a music legend with his honest, soulful sound and infectious melodies. As a native son of Georgia, he remained true to his roots throughout his career, which saw his name included in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. And that is not even including the Kennedy Honors and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In this tribute show, some of the current greats in R&B pay tribute to perhaps the greatest name in the history of R&B in this celebration of Ray Charles’ music.

Spreading his signature brand of gospel, blues, jazz, country, and soul across the country, Charles transcended the racism and cultural upheavals that were so prevalent during those turbulent times to unite audiences of all types throughout the United States.

Join an all-star cast to honor one of the most influential voices in both music and pop culture:

Take 6: 10-time GRAMMY winning vocal sensation. Their exciting performances defy categorization and have led to collaborations with Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Queen Latifah, and the Georgian genius himself, Ray Charles.

Clint Holmes: Las Vegas-based vocal star who has been selling out concert halls around the world. His exciting and soulful style is perfectly suited to this tribute to one of the most soulful voices to ever grace our ears.

Nnenna Freelon: Six-time GRAMMY nominee and Downbeat vocalist of the year, Freelon has performed and toured with Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Herbia Hancock, and, most importantly, Ray Charles. She has also played on some of the biggest stages, including Carnegie Hall, Monterey Jazz Festival, Apollo Theater, and Montreux Jazz Festival.

Kirk Whalum: 12-time Grammy award winner who hails from Memphis, Tennessee. He worked with Whitney Houston for years and performed the saxophone solo on “I Will Always Love You,” and has also appeared on Luther Vandross’ interpretations of R&B standards.
