Chinese Dance: Classical, Modern and Folk

In three acts - Dragon Rhythm, Chinese Trend and Swing China - this evening of dance takes the audience through a sweeping scope of Chinese culture. True to its mission of cultural cooperation and exchange, the China Northeast Normal University, located in Changchun City in Jilin Province, sends its College of Music dance troupe to St. Louis for one night to share its authentic representation of rich tradition. With dances titled Painting Fan Dance, Sleeve Dance, Northeast Yangee (Handkerchief) Dance and the Han & Tang Dynasty music dance, the performance promises an outstanding sample of the Chinese culture’s distinctive aesthetic.
