The Improv Shop
with special guest Guy Phillips
Guy Phillips, the ever-popular morning radio host at Y98 in St. Louis, will join the comedic actors with The Improv Shop as special guest monologist for the February 13 performance
This hilarious, Chicago-style improv will feature the Armando format. Phillips will tell a personal story based on the evening's theme and the troupe will build a series of hysterical vignettes that interweave characters, plot, story and other details. St. Louis’ own Improv Shop is known for creating dynamic comedy improv.
More about special guest monologist Guy Phillips:
Since 1979, Guy has been the cornerstone of morning radio at Y98 in St. Louis. Guy is a humorous, wisecracking entertainer who makes his listener’s trip to work enjoyable, with fun interviews, star guests, and a different, albeit twisted, view of local and national events.
Guy remains one of the most sought-after event emcees in the area. Though his schedule is packed full, Phillips lends himself for many charitable events, even serving on the board of several organizations. Guy’s payback for his personal success is his continuing donation of thousands of hours of service in the metro area. S.I.D.S (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charities, and A.L.I.V.E. are just a few of the many charitable organizations he supports. Phillips is also a board member of the Derrik Sabada Memorial Scholarship Fund, The Saint Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer, 9th District Business Association, Friends of Kids with Cancer, and Cinema St. Louis.
Among a slew of distinguished local and national broadcasting awards, Guy was inducted into the Saint Louis Radio Hall of Fame in the 2005-2006 class and, by mayoral proclamation, carries the moniker “Mr. St. Louis,” a title he richly deserves!
